We offer a synthetic exposition on the state of art for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) relevant to Navier–Stokes equations with Boussinesq approximation, smoothly blending history field an accessible underlying mathematical rationale, supporting theorems and survey landmark results subject. Attention is paid those efforts which have opened up new paradigms in modern CFD, techniques that emerged as leading candidates well their diverse reverberations producing advancements our understanding thermal buoyancy convection (especially Rayleigh–Bénard so-called Hadley Flow) both laminar turbulent conditions.

Incompressible Maxwell-Boussinesq approximation: Existence, uniqueness and shape sensitivity
Abstract: We prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions to the variational formulation of the Maxwell-Boussinesq approximation problem. Some further regularity in W , δ > 0, is obtained for the weak solutions. The shape sensitivity analysis by the boundary variations technique is performed for the weak solutions. As a result, the existence of the strong material derivatives for the we...

Numerical Simulation of Incompressible Two–Phase Flows with a Boussinesq–Scriven Interface Stress Tensor
We consider the numerical simulation of a three-dimensional two-phase incompressible flow with a viscous interface. The simulation is based on a sharp interface Navier-Stokes model and the Boussinesq-Scriven constitutive law for the interface viscous stress tensor. In the recent paper [Soft Matter 7, 7797–7804, 2011] a model problem with a spherical droplet in a Stokes Poiseuille flow with a Bo...
